High and Undesirable

Ok, you all know I don't mind crawling into Low and Undesirable places. That does not bother me one bit. But do you think I would go as far as to create a cache called(video link -->) High and Undesirable? You bet I would!!!!!
I think this could safely be rated as a 3/5! Angrist found an Earth Cache there called Garganta Del Chorro. I don't think we would have any proximity issues if we dropped an ammo can in the area.

Enjoy and be thankful we all don't live in Spain. A bit of history about El camino del Rey too.

Thanks to feralgyrl for getting my creative juices flowing again. Me thinks I need to look for some new cache locations.

Cache Recruting

Spent a few hours at Appalachian Ski and Outdoors Saturday trying to promote Geocaching. This all started a few weeks ago when mountainfolk406 asked if we could put on a caching demo at the store. The App House had an open house of sorts with a handful of different product reps drawing people in. We personally spoke to about 2 dozen people. Hopefully we sparked some interest in a few people. I would expect to see some hits on the CPAG in the next week or so. Today I was joined by feralgyrl, Angrist, and nucci6.

It was nice to have the company. Everything was also on sale so it was hard not to look around for something to buy. Who bought that kayak? Star-geezer and redtailforester also made popped in to say hello.
The remainder of my weekend was spent trying to gain my strength back from a nasty bout of intestinal flu I got last weekend. Man that's been a real drag.

Crowning Afternoon

The afternoon was not all lost today. After being royally crowned at the dentist today I chose to head out and do a little cache maintenance. I drove out route 45 to check on the Coburn Tunnel Burn. The stage container has been officially upgraded and re-hidden. It was nice to see things greening up finally.

In addition to cache maintenance I had also planned on looking at a specific point in Bald Eagle State Forest. Seems my well tucked away spot is very tucked away and was going to require a bit more research to get to my intended GZ. I did find an interesting formation of rocks on the way that could potentially be a Earth Cache.

Continuing my quest for the hideaway I chose another path into the potential GZ but again came up short the closer I got. This time I was presented with a handful of no trespassing signs. The two dejections was just about all I was going to take and I sought refuge in a dark, damp comfortable spot. This site has a lot of potential as a quick HolyCowboy cache and grab. How soon can I get back out here with containers?

On my way back to town I had to take a quick snap or two of one of the many overlooks in the area.

My face hurts…..need Advil!
